PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for cleaning a pole transformer which has excellent treatment efficiency in treating a pole transformer using a PCB-containing insulating oil and a method of treating a pole transformer which enables the cleaning of the pole transformer with excellent treatment efficiency. SOLUTION: The apparatus for treating the pole transformer is used to remove, with a cleaning solution, the insulating oil adhered to the inside of the enclosure of the pole transformer using the PCB-containing insulating oil, without crushing the enclosure, and has a cleaning unit for the enclosure. The enclosure-cleaning unit has a lid part which can block the opening of the enclosure and is used to block the opening and a cleaning solution fluidizing mechanism which causes the cleaning solution to be contained in the enclosure and fluidizes the cleaning solution inside the enclosure with the opening blocked.
