PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pants type article which is excellent in touch and elasticity, gives an excellent wearing feeling, does not easily get stuffy by excellent air permeability and is beautiful to the eye further; to provide its manufacturing method; and to provide the pants type article capable of appropriately coping with various requests on underwear, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The pants type article is provided with a waist opening and a pair of leg openings on an outer envelope. The envelope is provided with an intermittently joined flexible sheet and a non-flexible sheet and a plurality of elastic members disposed at non-joined parts between both sheets and made freely flexible independently. When the elastic members are contracted, a plurality of folds holding vacancies inside between both sheets are formed on the non-flexible sheet side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
