PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation structure of a building capable of ensuring smooth relative travel of a receiving plate and a mobile plate to achieve excellent base isolation effect. SOLUTION: In this base isolation structure 1 of the building provided with a foundation body constructed on the ground to support a building body and a slide means 5 provided between the foundation body and the ground to cause the foundation body to slide relative to the ground when receiving seismic force exceeding a predetermined magnitude, the slide means 5 includes the receiving plate having an upper face formed into a sliding face having a satisfactory sliding property and put and fixed on the foundation slab and the mobile plate having a lower face formed into a sliding face, fixed on a lower face of the foundation body, and overlapped on the receiving plate.
