PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of an engine and to improve the performance of the engine by reducing an alloy density and obtaining prescribed creep properties. SOLUTION: The single crystal alloy is substantially composed of, by weight, 4.0 to 10% chromium, 1.0 to 2.5% molybdenum, up to 5.0% tungsten, 3.0 to 8.0% tantalum, 5.5 to 6.25% aluminum, 6.0 to 17% cobalt, up to 0.2% hafnium, 4.0 to 6.0% rhenium, 1.0 to 3.0% ruthenium, and the balance nickel. Further, regarding the single crystal alloy in this invention, the total of tungsten and molybdenum lies in the range of 1.0 to 7.5 wt.%, preferably, in the range of 2.0 to 7.0 wt.%, the total of refractories lies in the range of 9 to 24.5 wt.%, preferably, in the range of 13 to 22 wt.%, and the ratio of rhenium to the total of the refractories lies in the range of 0.16 to 0.67, preferably in the range of 0.20 to 0.45.
