The component has an electronic relay e.g. MOSFET, and a direct current-direct current converter circuit, which is active as a boost converter during a voltage drop in an on-board supply system below a nominal voltage. The boost converter stabilizes a voltage of a load path of the supply system to the nominal voltage by switching the relay with the help of the circuit, and the circuit does not perform conversion with an input voltage (Uin) larger than or equal to the nominal voltage. The circuit stabilizes the voltage during a voltage drop for 1.5 seconds after beginning of the drop.
