An LCD device and a method for manufacturing a light guide plate used in the same are provided to insert a diffusion pattern sheet or a prism sheet in the inside of a light guide plate, thereby maximizing the efficiency of light emitted from a light source and minimizing the size of the LCD device. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device comprises an LCD panel, a light source(101), and a light guide plate(102). The light source supplies light to the LCD panel. A diffusion pattern sheet(102a) is inserted into the light guide plate. The light guide plate guides light emitted from the light source to the LCD panel. A prism sheet is additionally provided in the inside of the light guide plate. The prism sheet is positioned in the upper part of the diffusion pattern sheet. A diffusion sheet is formed in the upper surface, rear surface, or inside of the diffusion pattern sheet. |
