To obtain a pollution-free fuel from a biomass, it is intended to provide a microorganism-containing composition for saccharifying a biomass, by which the problems accompanying the "forcible" decomposition or enzymatic decomposition occurring in the currently available saccharifying technique as a pretreatment of a biomass can be overcome and which is efficiently applicable to various kinds of biomasses without resorting to a complicated apparatus and ensures the smooth performance of the subsequent ethanol fermentation, a method of producing the same and a method of using the same. Namely, a microorganism-containing composition for saccharifying a biomass which is obtained by adding microorganisms belonging to the genera Bacillus, Lactobacillus, Streptococcus, Saccharomyces, Candida and Pichia to a fermentation substrate containing palm oil residue, rice bran and diatomaceous earth followed by fermentation, a method of producing the same and a method of using the same.
|
