METHOD FOR RECEIVING EFFICIENT VIDEO USING RECEIVED SIGNAL STRENGTH NOTIFICATION MECHANISM IN IPTV ENVIRONMENT

An object of the present invention is to provide a method of transmitting content data depending on signal strength, which varies the data transmission rate according to the strength of a received signal in the mobile Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) environment and can transmit data at the varied data transmission rate. The method includes a received-signal-variation notification process of a mobile terminal detecting the strength of a received radio signal and providing a media server with a notification message when the detected signal strength is greater than an allowable variation value; and a transmission bit rate conversion process of the media server receiving a received signal strength variation value, which is included in the notification message, and performing conversion such that content data, having a bit rate suitable for the strength of the received signal, is transmitted to the mobile terminal.
