<p>In a modification of the process of the parent Specification, "never-dried" polyacrylonitrile fibres e.g. in the form of a tow of continuous filaments, are treated by application of an aqueous solution containing 1.5-5% by weight of a cyanoalkyl amide e.g. bis-cyanoethyl formamide, at a temperature of 75-90 DEG C., and are subsequently deformed e.g. crimped in a stuffer-box.</p> |
