A drive circuit for an LED(Light Emitting Diode) is provided to stabilize brightness by supplying the same voltage to an LED string through a uniform voltage drop between a drive voltage and a forward bias of the LED. A drive circuit(100) for an LED(152) includes a power converter(140), a detection circuit(120), and a report circuit(130). The power converter converts power into a driver voltage(104) supplied to an LED string(151). The detection circuit is electrically connected to the LED string, has at least one reference voltage, detects a string voltage(122) of the LED string, and outputs a detection signal(124) by comparing the string voltage with the reference voltage. The report circuit receives the detection signal and is electrically connected to the detection circuit and the power converter to output a control signal(102) to the power converter. The power converter receives the control signal and controls the drive voltage according to the control signal.
