摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve quicker response, lower cost, and long life by reducing mass of direct-acting parts, reduction in the number of components and number of steps in the process, reduction in contact surface pressure, and the like, in a linear actuator. <P>SOLUTION: It is configured not to form inclined planes 7b, 11b in a wedge locking mechanism on a direct-acting member 12, so that the mass of a wedge locking preventing mechanism and its drive devices 26, 27, 21 may not be added to the mass of a portion where direct-acting motion is performed. Further, in all wedge locking mechanism portions, the mass is reduced, by arranging the direct-acting member 12 on the inside circumferential side, so that inertial resistance is reduced. No deformation is caused to occur to lead wires and the like by fixing the drive device. Moreover, retaining members 17 of each wedge locking preventing mechanism are integrated to reduce the number of components, and the number of steps in the process is reduced, by forming as a part of a common spherical surface a plurality of the inclined surfaces 7b, 11b required for each wedge locking mechanism; and as the inclined surfaces become spherical surfaces, wedge members 13-16 which contact the inclined surfaces are made into a shape which allows line contact with the spherical surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
