PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the influence of noise mixed in image signals to be transmitted. SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope 20 is provided with an imaging element 26 and a transmission rate change circuit 28. The imaging element 26 outputs pixel signals at the transmission rate of 13.5 MHz; the transmission rate change circuit 28 receives the pixel signals, and the transmission rate change circuit 28 transmits the received same pixel signals twice at the double transmission rate to the endoscope processor. In the endoscope processor, the same pixel signals are compared. When the signal level of the pixel signal is different, it is judged as the pixel signal in which the noise is mixed.
