PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium capable of performing format conversion for seamlessly connected streams while a seamless reproduction function is maintained, and to provide an apparatus and a method for recording information on the information recording medium. SOLUTION: A limiting format capable of translating a first format (for example, MPEG transport stream) into a second format (for example, MPEG program stream) is provided. Seamless reproduction is achieved using a third system stream (Bridge VOB) composed of a part of each of two seamlessly connected system streams. According to the limiting format, a reproduction time duration of a video image information on data management unit (Capsule) containing a packet at the termination of the third system stream becomes a value between 0.4 seconds and 1 second.
