PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electric machine which can reduce odd-order components, in particular, a primary component and a tertiary component of a harmonic component of torque pulsation. SOLUTION: A stator 2 is constituted by winding a three-phase stator coil to a stator core 4 having N-pieces of slots, and the rotor 3 is constituted by embedding P-pieces of permanent magnets 8 being magnetic poles at the external periphery of a rotor core 6 so that a ratio N/P of the number N of the slots and the number P of the magnetic poles is set to be 4.5. The rotor 3 is divided into four blocks 10, 11, 11 and 12 having equal thicknesses, the blocks 11, 11 are constituted so that the magnetic poles are located in set reference positions, the block 10 is constituted so that the magnetic pole is located in a position which is displaced from the reference position by a prescribed angleθin a direction opposite to a rotative direction X, and the block 12 is constituted so that the magnetic pole is located in a position which is displaced from the reference position by the prescribed angleθin the rotative direction X.
