DISCONNECTION DETECTING METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disconnection detecting method for accurately estimating a disconnection location even if a propagation speed of a high frequency pulse is nonuniform. SOLUTION: A reflection member 10 for reflecting the high frequency pulse is attached to an electric wire cable 3. The high frequency pulse is injected to the electric wire cable 3. A waveform of a reflection wave returns from the electric wire cable 3, and is received. A partial waveform due to the reflection member 10 and a partial waveform due to the disconnection in the electric wire cable 3 are extracted from the waveform of the reflection wave. The disconnection location is estimated by evaluating the partial waveform due to the disconnection with reference to the partial waveform due to the reflection member 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
