The fixation (10) has a shaft (12) i.e. armature shaft, of an electric motor drive. A component (32) encompasses the shaft and is fitted with a front side (36) at an axial inset (30) that is formed on the shaft. A radial recess (41) is formed at the shaft directly and axially before the inset within the region of the component. The radial recess extends itself over the entire circumference of the shaft and the inset. The shaft forms a bearing seat (28) for the component, where the diameter (31) of the inset is larger than the diameter (29) of the bearing seat. An independent claim is also included for a method for fixing a component on a shaft.
