The present invention relate to a cellulose/polyvinylalcohol composite fiber and a method of preparing the same, and more particularly to a cellulose/polyvinylalcohol composite fiber using polyvinylalcohol in which the content of syndiotactic diad groups is from 53 to 60% and the degree of saponification is at least 99%, and a method of preparing the same. Furthermore, the present invention provides a method of preparing a cellulose/polyvinylalcohol composite fiber and the cellulose/polyvinylalcohol composite fiber prepared therefrom, wherein the method includes the steps of spinning a dope and cross-linking and solidifying the composite fiber at the same time with a cross-linking agent during the solidifying process.
