<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a periphery-monitoring device for a vehicle capable of suppressing the unnecessary erroneous detection of an obstacle or the like. <P>SOLUTION: This periphery-monitoring device for the vehicle is provided with a front monitoring means for monitoring an object within a predetermined front region that extends to the front of own vehicle; and a front-side monitoring means for monitoring the obstacle within a predetermined front-side region that extends to the side of own vehicle, in comparison with the predetermined front region. This periphery monitoring device is provided with a predetermined road traveling determination means for determining whether own vehicle is traveling on a predetermined road having sidewalls; and when it is determined that own vehicle is traveling on the predetermined road by the predetermined road traveling decision means, monitoring by the front-side monitoring means is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
