PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is inefficient to search a device which may not include the document when searching first device for a document stored in a second device group connected to a network. SOLUTION: On the basis of a desired image area, from among image data scanned by the first device, documents stored in the second device group are searched. At this time, the first device acquires the scanner capacity of each device in the second device group (S701), and extracts a color feature of the scanned data (S702). For example, if the color data is scanned, a device having a color scanner among the second device group is selected to be searched.
