PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent scratches from being produced on an image forming surface by sawteeth of star wheels even when an image is formed on thick photo paper by adjusting the gaps or the pressures between the star wheels and discharge rollers according to the thickness of the recording paper in an image forming device. SOLUTION: A star wheel base 53 supporting star wheels 37 and 38 is held by a movable base 70 installed at the bottom of a casing 6 and displaceable in the vertical direction. A piezoelectric element 71 is attached near both ends of the movable base 70. The movable base 70 is displaced vertically by applying a predetermined voltage between the piezoelectric elements 71. According to the displacement of the movable base 70, the star wheel base 53 supporting the first star wheel 37 and the second star wheel 38 is displaced vertically, and the gap or the pressure between the first star wheel 37 and a first discharge roller 35 and the gap or the pressure between the second star wheel 36 and a second discharge roller 36 are adjusted.
