PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire 2 excellent in durability while maintaining riding comfortability. SOLUTION: This tire 2 is provided with a tread 4; a pair of side walls 6; a pair of beads 8; a carcass 10 laid between both beads 8 along inner sides of the tread 4 and the side wall 6 and having a radial structure; and a pair of auxiliary plies 20 arranged along the carcass 10 at a border area of the tread 4 and the side wall 6. Carcass plies 30, 32 of the carcass 10 are folded back at the bead 8. The auxiliary ply 20 is positioned at an approximately outer side in the radial direction of the folded-back carcass ply 30. The auxiliary ply 20 is provided with an auxiliary cord extending in a radial direction. An absolute value of an angle formed by the auxiliary cord relative to the carcass cord of the carcass plies 30, 32 is not smaller 0°and not larger than 5°. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
