The flat material dressing (10) includes outer layers of fibrous material (11a, 11b), one of which faces the body. A substance promoting wound healing, is bonded in particulate form, in the core of fibrous material (12, 12a). This substance is released in the presence of aqueous fluid. The dressing is sterilized. The particles (12b) comprise a carrier-material and the healing substance. They have a core and a casing, the latter connecting the particles to the fibrous material. Suitable materials of construction and medicaments are further detailed.
