A radiation sensitive composition, a color filter or black matrix containing a coloring layer formed by using the composition, an LCD device containing the color filter, and a method for preparing an alkali-soluble resin used in the composition are provided to improve color purity and to prevent the generation of scum at pattern edge even with a small exposure amount. A radiation sensitive composition comprises a colorant; an alkali-soluble resin is represented by the formula; a multifunctional monomer; and a photopolymerization initiator, wherein R1, R2 and R3 are independently H or a C1-C10 alkyl group; X is a monovalent organic group having an acryloyl group or a methacryloyl group, a vinyl group or a 1-methylvinyl group; Y is a divalent organic group; and h is an integer of 1-5. |
