<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior structure of a rim lock wherein the renewal of design and outward appearance can be carried out easily at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The exterior structure of the rim lock includes: a housing which is fixed to a door surface 37, internally provides a lock mechanism and has a fixing screw hole on the side surface perpendicular to the door surface 37; an outdoor side open/close operation member 23A wherein a shaft part 35 penetrates from the indoor side through the door 11 and the housing; a cylindrical boss formed in the housing wherein the shaft part 35 penetrates therethrough; an outer case 117 which covers the housing and has a through hole corresponding to the fixing screw hole and a boss insertion hole to allow the boss to be externally fitted thereinto; and an indoor side open/close operation member 23B, which is engaged with the insertion hole opened on a base part end surface 137 and is fixed to the shaft part 35 with a lock screw orthogonal to the shaft part 35, is provided to the shaft part 35 protruding from the boss. The outer case 117 is mounted to the housing, while the outer case is controlled so as not to be removed with the fixing screw 143 which is inserted in the through hole to be screwed with the fixing screw hole, and with the base part end surface 137 of the indoor side open/close operation member 23B which abuts on the peripheral edge of the boss insertion hole. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
