<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of continuing printing operation even when an error is made in a process cartridge which is not used. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an abnormality detection part which detects abnormality in an image forming part and generates an abnormality signal for each image forming part; an informing part which informs that the abnormality occurs; a switching part which switches effectiveness/ineffectiveness of the abnormality signal for each image forming part; and a control part which controls the informing part to inform that the abnormality occurs and stops image formation when the abnormality signal is effective, and which continues the image formation when the abnormality signal is ineffective. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
