<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ECG recording device for a self-administered electrocardiogram (ECG) examination. <P>SOLUTION: The ECG recording device (10) contains: a mailable base (18); and an electrode assembly engageable with the base to receive the ECG signals from a subject. The base is disposable or reusable or recyclable in the single-use or limited-use ECG recording device. In addition, the device may be self-contained, battery-operated, portable, disposable, mailable, provides feedback, indicates its method of use including graphically depicting same, contains a finger cuff (70) and/or sensor pads (34, 34) for receiving ECG signals, and/or contains a memory (78). Preferably, the base conforms to various body shapes and/or sizes, is made of flexible and/or semi-flexible material, and/or contains a receptor (86), such as sealable blood well.
