<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image of high image quality, even when the width of a paper is different, in an electrostatic recorder using a roll transfer system, for transferring a toner image to the paper from an image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: A transfer roll is configured to include a power feeding section having such a structure that a plurality of metal electrodes having a length corresponding to the width of a transfer material are laminated through an insulating layer and an elastic body layer on the circumference of the power feeding section. A transfer voltage is applied to an area corresponding to the width of the transfer material used and a voltage lower than the transfer voltage is applied to an area where the transfer material does not exist. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
