PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the quantity of statistical traffic information updated, accompanying updating of map information, and to reduce communication time and costs required for the distribution of the statistical traffic information. SOLUTION: In a traffic information distribution apparatus 10, an updating influence road link extracting part 14, when map information stored in a map information storage part 21 is updated, extracts a road link in which the value of statistical traffic information, such as link travel time, may be influenced by the updating of the road link as an update influence road link. A statistical traffic information error evaluating part 15 evaluates the errors of the statistical traffic information for each day and for each time band which is stored, in a statistical traffic information storage part 22 against result traffic information obtained via a present state traffic information receiving part 19. An updated statistical traffic information creating part 16 distributes only the result traffic information each day and in each time band of which the error is large to an on-vehicle terminal apparatus 50 as updated statistical traffic information.
