PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent images from being adversely affected by friction between paper and a fixing entrance guide, which results from a reduction in the size of an image forming apparatus, leading to the need to prevent wrinkles, displacement, rush and hence scatter, and ending up the increased pressure of the paper on the fixing entrance guide. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes a fixing means for fixing a transfer material with a toner image held thereon, and the fixing entrance guide for guiding the transfer material to the fixing means. In the fixing entrance guide of the fixing device, a base material of a volume resistance in the range of 10E6Ωm to 10E12Ωm is coated with a fluorocarbon resin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
