PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter which has a simple structure allowing inexpensive fabrication, allows easy attachment of an element to the frame and easy removal of the element from the frame and can house the element within the frame without rattling. SOLUTION: The filter 11 consists of an element 12 which is composed of a pleated filter medium 14 and end plates 15 fixed to both ends of the filter medium 14 in the extending direction of the pleats and contained in a rectangular-box-shaped frame 13 in a removable way. The length L2 of the end plates 15 is longer than the inside length L3 of the frame 13. With the element 12 contained in the frame 13, the end plates 15 are deformed elastically so as to be pressed toward the inside surface of the frame 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
