The coal face support in a mine has a number of timbering and walling units and has a mining machine. A control unit has a data detection, data storage, computer and programming, by which the force, particularly down hill slope force acts on a conveyor (25) in the striving direction for interception. The conveyor is driven by a partial length against the coal impact and is brought in force-fit connection by clamping force. The height and distribution of the clamping force are aligned by the striving length with a desired situation of the conveyor.
