The arrangement has chain hoists (1a, 1b, 1c), which include a drive motor (2), which acts over a friction clutch (8) on a gear, and brakes (13), which act behind the friction clutch on the gear. Controls (3a, 3b, 3c) are attached to each drive motor and each brake. The brakes are electrically connected with one another in such a manner that one brake, which is brought into engagement, of the chain hoist effects that the brake of the other chain hoist is brought into engagement.
