A device and a method for processing information, and a program and a recording medium thereof are provided to improve operability of a user and utilize a memory protection function of an OS(Operating System) effectively. An exception processor(133) is executed in a kernel(131) and is hooked by a kernel of an OS. The kernel forcibly terminates a program corresponding to a process(151) by informing the exception processor that data is illegally written to a RAM when illegal data write is detected. The exception processor informs a user of system error occurring in a CE(Consumer Electronics) device and controls execution of an application program for rebooting by using an exception program separated from the terminated program after the program of the process is terminated. The exception program is executed by control of the exception processor and is automatically executed when the CE device is booted by power-on. The kernel allocates a memory area for the process(152) corresponding to the exception application in a user space(132). The exception application is executed by a CPU of the CE device, informs the user of the system error occurring in the CE device and requests reboot.
