An LCD device is provided to supply a high gate voltage and a low gate voltage supplied to gate lines to a static electricity preventing circuit to prevent a data current for driving liquid crystal from being flowed into the static electricity preventing circuit, thereby reducing power consumption for driving the liquid crystal. Liquid crystal cells defined by gate lines(102) and data lines(104) are arranged in a matrix form on an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel. A static electricity preventing circuit is built in the LCD panel and is connected to one of the gate lines and the data lines. A first voltage supply line(177) supplies the same voltage as a first gate voltage supplied to the gate lines to the static electricity preventing circuit. A second voltage supply line(187) supplies the same voltage as a second gate voltage supplied to the gate lines to the static electricity preventing circuit.
