RUBBER COMPOSITION FOR TIRE

Disclosed is a rubber composition for a tire, which comprises: (1) 100 pa rts by weight of a rubber component comprising a natural rubber and/or a die ne-type synthetic rubber; and (2) (a) 0.5 to 40 parts by weight of a porous diatomaceous earth having a shape of a hollow or solid cylinder and having t he height of the hollow or solid cylinder of 100 .mu.m or less, and (b) (i) carbon black and/or (ii) silica, wherein the total amount of the components (a) and (b) is 40 to 80 parts by mass. The rubber composition can show an im proved frictional force on ice without deteriorating the abrasion resistance or strength.
