<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber article-reinforcing steel cord in which cord tensile strength after vulcanization is improved without lowering cord strength per cord cross section, and a pneumatic tire using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The rubber article-reinforcing steel cord has a double twisted structure formed by twisting a sheath strand 2 having a twisted structure with two or more layers around a core strand 1 having a twisted structure with two or more layers. In the steel cord, the tensile strength of the outermost layer of a sheath filament 11 constituting the core strand 1 is ≤3,100 N/mm<SP>2</SP>and the tensile strength of all filaments excluding the outermost layer of the sheath filament 11 is ≥3,150 N/mm<SP>2</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
