<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of maintaining an image forming means at a fixed temperature or below by efficiently cooling the image forming means. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a cartridge 3 for forming images on recording materials S; and cooling fans 33 and 34 for cooling the cartridge 3. In the image forming apparatus, the cooling fans 33 and 34 are disposed perpendicular to the direction of conveyance of a recording material S in the main body of the apparatus and opposite to each other on both sides of the cartridge 3.
