<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely superimpose caption data on video data recorded in a video server. <P>SOLUTION: A material recording portion 14 of a video server 100 assigns material identifying information to each inputted material data to be recorded in a material data storage portion 13. A material management portion 15 registers combination information indicating a combination of the material data recorded in a material management table to be stored in a material management table storage portion 17. Upon material transmission, the material management portion 15 accepts a selection of the combination information, and reads the material identifying information included in the combination information from the material management table storage portion 17.
