摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease changes in output light of an optical module due to temperature, to extend the temperature range in which the optical module cab be driven and to improve characteristics of the optical module. SOLUTION: A wavelength filter 50 which shows increase in the transmittance with rise of temperature is disposed on the optical path of output light from a light emitting element 10. The output of the light emitting element (VCSEL) 10 decreases with the rise of temperature. On the other hand, the output of the light emitting element 10 shifts toward a longer wavelength side with the rise of temperature. Thereby, the wavelength filter 50 is designed to increase the transmittance with longer wavelengths so as to offset decrease in the output light of the light emitting element 10 by the increase in the transmittance of the wavelength filter 50. Thus, changes in the output light due to the temperature can be decreased, and the temperature range in which the optical module can be driven can be extended. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
