PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent bad shapes of a strip made of metal having high thermal conductivity. SOLUTION: The twin roll casting machine comprises a pair of cooling rolls 1 horizontally arranged in a row, and a pair of side weirs 9 arranged so as to sandwich the cooling rolls 1 in the axial direction. Barrel weirs 10 are arranged above the respective cooling rolls 1 so as to be sandwiched between a pair of the side weirs 9 so as to come into surface contact with the portions of the surfaces of a pair of the side weirs 9 on the side of the molten metal reservoir 3. A molten metal receiving plate 11 is provided over the whole length of the upper end of one of the barrel weir 10 so as to horizontally project toward the side opposite to the gap between the cooling rolls. Further, the upper end of the other barrel weir 10 and the upper ends of the respective side weirs 9 are elongated upward, and then a molten metal receiving weir 12 is arranged so as to continue to the other side weir 9 from one of the side weirs 9 along the outer edge of the molten metal receiving plate 11.
