The transponder (1) has a memory unit for storing data, and a display unit (5) e.g. LCD and organic LED units, for displaying the data. The memory and display units are integrated on a plastic carrier (2) that is formed by a card made of plastic. The memory unit is integrated in a chip (4) containing an integrated circuit. The display unit is connected to the chip. A memory content is changed by inputting the data through a keypad (6). The keypad is formed by a foil keypad that is arranged on the card. An antenna (3) receives the data from a transmitting and receiving unit.
