An LCD device is provided to enable a user to adjust the on/off time of lamps directly by using sensed on/off time data, thereby setting the optimal image quality. An LCD device comprises an LCD panel(102), a backlight unit(110), at least two lamp driving units(112a~112c), an input unit, and a lamp driving controller(120). The backlight unit divides into at least two areas and has at least two lamps(101a~101c) disposed in correspondence to the divide areas. The at least two lamp driving units generate a lamp driving voltage for driving the at least two lamps. The input unit outputs data to be inputted to the LCD panel. The lamp driving controller controls the lamp driving units to adjust the on/off start time of the at least two lamps in response to the on/off start data of the at least two lamps in the data from the input unit. |
