A method of manufacturing a solar cell of wire type is provided to simplify a manufacturing process by inserting a reflector for focusing light in a space between wires. An n-type semiconductor layer(2) is formed by diffusing phosphor in a surface of a p-type semiconductor(1) formed in a long wire shape. A portion of the p-type semiconductor is exposed by a grinding method. A first electrode(6) is formed on the exposed portion of the p-type semiconductor, and a second electrode(5) is formed on an opening of the n-type semiconductor. A first electrode interconnection(21) and a second electrode interconnection(22) are formed on a lower substrate(12). The first electrode wiring of the lower substrate is welded to the first electrode, and the second electrode interconnection is welded to the second electrode.
