A system and a method for identifying the location of vehicles are provided to embody a vehicle position identifying function at low cost by controlling vehicles through a BCM(Body Control Module) according to a transmission signal from a remote controller. A system for identifying the location of vehicles includes a remote control device(200) and a position identification controller(300). The remote control device generates general and reaction control signals for controlling an operation or position of vehicles, modulates the reaction and general control signals to first and second RF(Radio Frequency) transmission signals, and transmits the first and second RF signals, respectively. The position identification controller includes a BCM(Body Control Module), which demodulates the first and second RF signals, controls an audible or visual reaction operation by responding the demodulated reaction control signal from the first RF transmission signal, and controls operations of elements of vehicles by responding the demodulated general control signal from the second RF transmission signal. The remote control device controls a bit value of the reaction control signal. The BCM varies the intensity of the audible or visual reaction operation when the bit value of the reaction control signal varies. |
