A refrigerator is provided to increase an internal storage space of a refrigerator by reducing the thickness of a refrigerator door having a dispensing apparatus. A refrigerator comprises refrigerator doors that selectively shield an internal storage space of a refrigerator. A chute(30) is provided at the outer one side of the refrigerator door to discharge an ice through an opening(32) opened to an exterior. A shielding unit is slidably installed to selectively open and close the opening. The shielding unit includes a cap(42), a driving unit, and a pressing part(50). The cap opens and closes the opening. The driving unit allows the cap to horizontally slide between the opening and an edge of the opening. The pressing part vertically applies force to the cap such that the cap is in close contact with the opening. The driving unit is prepared in the form of a solenoid for selectively generating a magnetic field by receiving an electric signal.
