<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handle device which has such general versatility that it is applicable as it is to handrails of various types that are rotatable by different self-weight moments due to the difference in factor such as length, without exchanging a spring. <P>SOLUTION: In the handle device, the handrail 100 is rotatable about a support shaft 3, and makes the position thereof changeable between a substantially vertical stored position and a substantially horizontal use position. Then a torque applying mechanism 21A is formed of: a plurality of relatively rotatable die members 5A, 7A; a lock member 15 for engaging with the die members to lock the mutual rotation of the same; and a spring 10A having one end thereof locked to either of the die members 5A, 7A and the other directly or indirectly locked to the handrail 100, for storing therein torque for energizing the handrail 100 according to the rotation of the handrail 100, in a direction opposite to the rotation. Then the torque applying mechanism 21A and the other torque applying mechanism 21B are arranged in the handle device, and the springs of the respective torque applying mechanisms are switched to be operable or inoperable by engaging/disengaging the lock member 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
