PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for examining the drug-metabolizing capacity of CYP2C8, capable of detecting a drug dysbolism caused by the polymorphism of drug-metabolizing enzyme CYP2C8 gene, and to provide a probe and an examination kit that are used in the method. SOLUTION: The method for examining the drug-metabolizing capacity of CYP2C8 is provided, comprising detecting the presence or absence of IVS3-21T>A polymorphism or IVS4+151G>A polymorphism, as a polymorphism of the CYP2C8 gene, and the probe and the examination kit used in this method are also provided.
