The invention relates to a method for the purification or separation of a gas mixture with at least two constituents, such as air or CO₂ containing impurities, comprising at least two groups of absorbers with each group containing at least two parallel absorbers which are each subjected to a pressure cycle consisting of a gas production phase and a regeneration phase, each phase comprising one or more steps. The invention is characterised in that at least two absorbers from each group are in the same phase and operate in unison for at least 75% of each of the phases of the cycle. The invention also relates to the facility used to carry out said method.
