A method for manufacturing an interior material having a natural coating layer and a cashew coating layer using waste leather pieces is provided to give an environment-friendly product to a user, and to extend a life of the interior material by improving heat-resisting property and durability. A method for manufacturing an interior material comprises the steps of: mixing leather powder crashed in a size of 300 - 1000 mesh of 55 weight %, adhesive powder of 25 weight %, charcoal of 5 weight %, and dyes of 15 weight %; forming the interior material(100) with a thickness of 1 - 7 mm by heat-pressing the mixture at 200 - 300 deg.C through a press former; forming a natural coating layer(200) by embossing the surface of the formed interior material and coating the surface with a natural coating material comprising lacquer sap, bean oil, grape juice, and onion juice; and forming a cashew resin coating layer(300) by coating the natural coating layer with cashew resin.
