<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which a range of a visual field angle having uniform color tone is wide, a visual field angle similar to that of a cathode-ray tube can be achieved and picture quality is improved. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises: a pair of substrates; a liquid crystal layer held between the pair of substrates; a plurality of scanning signal lines formed on one of the pair of substrates; a plurality of video signal lines; and pixel electrodes and counter electrodes formed in a plurality of pixel areas formed by the scanning signal lines and the video signal lines. Each pixel electrode is formed so as to have a side making an angle of θ and a side making an angle of -θ with the extending direction of the video signal line. The side having the angle θ and the side having the angle -θ are formed in one pixel region. The side having the angle θ and the side having the angle -θ are formed in one pixel electrode region.
